The weekday PlaySchool/Creche

The PlaySpace is Primarily a small Playgroup/ School that caters for children between 18months and 3 years old 

Mondays-Fridays. We are open from 7:15am for early drop-off and close at 12pm.

Aftercare is available until  2:30pm.

Children may attend 2/3/4 or 5 days a week. 

Children are split into two groups:

Those that are turning 3 years old in the current year (Green Group)

Those that are turning 2 years old in the current year (Yellow Group)

The school is run by Ariadni Hind, known as Az, a qualified teacher specialising in Early Childhood Development and the Foundation phase with over 17 years teaching experience with children ranging from 0-9 years old. With experience from teaching at Westville Junior Primary, Cygnet Prep School as well as owning Toptots Westville for 3 years, Ariadni is passionate, equipped and capable with running a school as well as teaching young children. She is super passionate about child development and loves teaching children through a very hands-on and fun approach! Az generally teaches the Green Group most of the time. 

Melissa Hatch teaches alongside Az, mostly looking after the Yellow Group. She is a qualified teacher also specialising in the ECD and Foundation phases. She has 8 years teaching experience also worked at Cygnet Prep and as part of Az’s Toptots’ staff team. She has definitely been called to work with this age group and it is so evident in the loving way in which she deals with the children.

Ester Dimba is our assistant. She worked for Toptots Westville for over 10 years and is incredible with children. Patient, caring helpful and always positive! She is our right-hand lady! The children absolutely love Ester.

Vivian Muzivi also assists us on our busier days and she is also so kind and hands-on with the children.

Ester and Vivian assist with nappy changing, potty training, making the children’s snack and helping keep everything sanitised and clean as well as helping the children during play times.

Sethu Peko assists us on Wednesdays and Thursdays and brings all the energy and fun. The children are so influenced by her happy and positive attitude. Sethu also facilitates parties when the venue is rented out on Saturdays.

Saturday PlayDates (Currently closed)

On Saturdays, we run classes which parents can attend with their child. These are 90 minutes and both parents and siblings are welcome to attend.  Classes cater for children from 8 months-4 years 

Activities include the following aspects:

• Cognitive skills
• Fine motor skills
• Gross motor skills
• Messy/sensory play
• Outdoor play
• Arts and crafts
• Music time and singing
• Story time

PlayDates are a wonderful way to transition your child to getting used to the idea of school. It's essentially covering all the aspects of a pre-school day, but 'squished' into 90 minutes and with the security of having you with them while they gain confidence and become more independent.

It's also a lovely family outing and parents and children get the opportunity to meet friends. the Saturday PlayDates work well as a transition into the PlaySchool during the week when they are ready to start school.
